Why Dallas
Where real records are built — not lost in 4 minutes
Most events knock you out in round one. Here, every athlete gets real mat time.
You fight. For real.
No more flying out just to lose once. Round Robin pools mean you face every athlete in your bracket.
More mat time in one day
Four real matches with IBJJF refs — more sparring than three months of class rolls combined.
IBJJF standard
Scoring, time and refereeing to the world's largest federation standard. No improvisation.
Is this the right event for your athlete?
Built for athletes — and the families who back them.
Dallas is for your athlete if…
- The athlete has trained at least 3 months and is ready to test their game in a real bracket
- You're tired of paying travel, hotel and entry just to see the athlete lose in 4 minutes and go home
- You want guaranteed mat time — multiple matches, official IBJJF refs, real competition record
- You want a safe, professional environment: medical staff on-site, certified refs, clear rules
- You want a result that actually counts toward the athlete's competitive ranking
It's NOT for you if…
- You're looking for casual open-mat rolls or a social training day
- You only want to watch — grab a spectator ticket at the door instead
- The athlete just started training and isn't comfortable in live sparring yet
- You expect a no-rules submission-only format — this event follows official IBJJF ruleset

FAQ
Common questions
What does “4 guaranteed fights” mean?
For Kids, Juvenile, Adult and Master White Belt divisions, we guarantee 4 matches — 2 no-gi and 2 gi, regardless of which format you register for. For Blue Belt and above, we guarantee 2 matches, as those divisions run Single Elimination.
I've never competed before. Is this event for me?
Absolutely. White Belt adult divisions run on Double Elimination — two chances, one loss doesn't end your day. Round Robin pools (Kids and 5+ athlete divisions) guarantee you fight everyone in your bracket. It's the ideal first-competition format: real mat time, no pressure to win round one or go home.
Do I need an IBJJF membership?
No. We use IBJJF rules but don't require membership.
Is there a separate division for women?
Yes — women have their own divisions by belt and weight. Same Round Robin / Double Elimination format. Sign up under the women's category at registration.
Is there a Kids division?
Yes — Kids start at 9:10 AM (weigh-ins begin at 8:15 AM). Divisions by age, weight and rank.
What time does the event end?
Estimated wrap-up is between 4:00 and 5:00 PM with finals and podium ceremonies. Plan travel accordingly to avoid missing the final matches.
Can I compete in both Gi and No-Gi?
Yes — Gi and No-Gi are included in the same registration. You can compete in one or both formats at no extra cost.
What if I get injured during a match?
Medical staff is on-site all day. If you're cleared to continue, you do; if not, the medical team decides. We do not pressure athletes to keep fighting — your health comes first. If you have to withdraw mid-event due to injury, you'll receive a voucher for a future United Grappling event.
Can I bring spectators?
Yes — spectator tickets sold at the door. Kids under 8 are free.
What if I don't make weight? Am I disqualified?
No — you have a 3 lb tolerance. If you miss weight, you'll be moved up to the next division. We recommend weighing in at least 30 minutes before your division starts so we have time to update the bracket. Once your division begins, division changes are no longer possible.
How do refunds work?
Full refund guaranteed up to 3 days before the event. If for any reason you don't get matches on event day, you'll receive a voucher for a future United Grappling event or a full refund — your choice.
